Recipe: Spicy Tabasco Vegan Chicken

Serves 2-4

Ingredients:

  • 400g Sayur Vegan Fried Chicken
  • Sea Salt, to taste
  • Cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp veg oil
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1tsp low sodium soy sauce

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius.
  2. Defrost vegan fried chicken. Cut into smaller bite sized chunks. Season with salt and pepper. Spray oil on baking pan/tray. Arrange the seasoned veg fried chicken on tray.
  3. Bake for 12-15 mins or until golden brown in colour. Remove from heat.
  4. Heat 1tbsp of oil in pan. Add all remaining sauce ingredients and bring to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat. Taste the sauce and adjust to your personal preference- adding more Tabasco for spice, brown sugar for sweet or soy sauce as desired.
  5. In a large bowl, toss veg fried chicken with sauce. Serve and garnish with your finely chopped basil or your favourite herb.
